Have a look at this interesting CSIR project on the beneficiation of Invasive Alien Plants on the Agulhas Plains through the production of bioenergy. IAP2Energy_PCI_biomass_interim
It seems an interesting project, I do however wonder how the chosen areas will deliver sustainable IAP over a period of 20 years? The growth and density of the seedlings etc. have to be taken into account as this may become less and less over the 20 year span. How will the areas be managed? What about rehabilitation of the areas during the clearing?
