New Firefighting Equipment
The Duiwenhoks Conservancy has decided, based on the discussion at the AGM in April 2011, to purchase a small fire fighting tank, pump and hose suitable to be transported on the back of a bakkie. The fire equipment has been purchased mainly for Conservancy members but is available for emergency fire use if required by members of the wider Vermaaklikheid community. A certain amount of training in the use and care of the equipment will be required and the Conservancy will organise such a training session later in the year.
The following “rules” will apply to the use of the equipment:
1. The equipment will be stored at John Stanbridge’s house.
2. John is NOT the local firefighter – if the equipment is required, the person must bring their own bakkie.
3. The equipment is to be only used for firefighting.
4. Should any damage be done to the equipment, the person using it will be held responsible for the costs of repair.”
