Marlin, from Heidelberg, has his own tractor and trailer and brings in his own work crew. He manages the whole process.
There is no charge and Marlin takes the wood = braai wood. He has recently completed extensive removal of rooikrans from Dolph Nel’s farm, which is neighbour to ours, and Dolph was very pleased with the work done. I saw massive piles of well cut wood that was removed.
Marlin is about to start at our place. So he will be in the Vermaaklikheid – Blombos Rd area for several weeks to come.
Perhaps if anyone wants to have their land cleared (next), they should contact Marlin. If asked he will remove smaller (non-usable) trees at the same time as targeting the bigger braai wood trees, but will probably want some reimbursement for this.
It’s a win-win situation, remembering that it is the responsibility of landowners to clear their properties of aliens. Getting rid of the big trees reduces the potential for seed generation – if the tiny-podlet galler is not active on your land.
